New Year's Blog
After a couple of weeks off Katie's Dad returns with a message for you all and some news about this year's Cricket Match.
Bad news is there is no joke this week, this of course maybe viewed as good news by many! A New Year is with us and those New Years Resolutions have already been broken, the weather is grotty, the trains are not running and we are all miserable.
Don’t you just love January! Actually, not being a fan of Christmas I quite like this time of the year but I do understand it is all a bit depressing.
Something to cheer you up and put you in mind of sunny days is that we have received from our friends at Little Baddow Cricket Club a provisional date for the third Friends of Katie Cricket Match. It is Sunday 25th July. I think this is the first weekend of the school holidays but hopefully you can put off going away until the Monday!
I cannot believe it will be the third event in Katie’s memory, it does not get any easier being without Katie but days like the cricket match do help us. Also the incredible sums we continue to raise in Katie’s memory never cease to amaze me. We are closing in on £24,000 for Little Havens and once we get an updated amount I will of course let you know.
Amazingly this is Blog number 10 so thanks for reading them. If for some strange reason you want to read any of the old ones they can all be found via the “Blogs” tab on the website.
Thanks also to all those who took part in the “Christmas Room 101” feature we ran up to Christmas Day. They are certainly a few of you with many strong opinions on the festive period and we hope to do a similar “101” based feature in the very near future. Please keep checking the site.
You will see the snow and decorations have gone. Keith Fullick at Weave-a-Web, who designed this site, had the sad job of taking down the decorations and sweeping up the snow but I hope you agree that the site looked great over the festive period.
We have had some serious numbers visiting the site over the last few weeks and we continue to be very proud of the site and try to make it a website Katie would love to visit herself.
Until next time.
PS - after all the cracker jokes I had to endure we are having a week off from bad gags!
