'Just to let you know that I am thinking of you, Ali and Katie today. I hope you are ok. Even though it has been two years now since Katie passed away she is still in my heart. This may sound funny but she is an inspiration for me to do and try new things, just as she did in her short life. Every time I have an opportunity to do something and there is a trivial excuse in the way, I think of Katie and do it. So in effect I owe her for a lot of great experiences I have had. '

'As I have said before I was not lucky enough to meet Katie but feel I am getting to know her more every time I visit her website. I know that February is always harder for you than the rest of the year and I really admire you for celebrating Katie’s life and loves when it would be so easy to simply shut yourself away. It is obvious to see from your actions where Katie got her spirit and bravery from. '

'It broke my heart to read of Katie - what a beautiful brave young lady.I fully understand what you all went through - I too lost my beloved daughter - ironically also called Katie - in Nov 1995 to Ovarian Cancer at the age of 17 - all the treatment she had - the awful side effects that I had to watch her endure and never once did she complain. These brave young ladies are to be admired. My heart goes out to you all as the anniversary of your loss draws nearer - my thoughts are with you.'

'This is for the Smile board: Makes me giggle when I remember how Katie and I would plot and deploy an all-out attack on Haze whenever we were in the car together. Seat down, seat very very far forward, headrest off, seatbelt o-so-tight, hair spiders...but to name a few! Travelling as a back seat passenger is not as much fun anymore! Chuckle. 'Just wanted to say that my wife Claire knew Katie from St John's Hospital and has fond memories of her from when she would see her when on the Ward. One memory in particular was seeing Katie walking down the ward about a year ago with a lovely smile on her face. Claire said Katie always seemed bubbly and was always amazed by her strength. Claire also said that people at St John's who knew Katie still to this day made enquiries as to how she was, which shows what a lovely impression she left on people who knew her. '
